About the training course
This training provides a deep dive into MG-MZG and VG-MZG and was developed for care managers, head nurses and nursing directors.
But any other healthcare professional with some basic knowledge of MZG can also participate in this training.
The training consists of three modules.
NRG of Nursing Related Groups model theoretical
The first module, Medical Data - Minimum Hospital Data, provides insight into the role of medical data within hospital financing, with attention to the Budget of Financial Resources, low-variable care, length-of-stay performance and DRG parameters.
In an hour and a half, participants receive a clear and concise overview.
Frederic Vanswijgenhoven is an expert in hospital financing at Jessa Hospital and a researcher at UGent and Vlerick Business School with a focus on efficiency in hospitals.
The module VG-MZG explores nursing registrations, care periods, care intensity (TOT-points), and their impact on time groups and care groups.
The module also provides insight into reporting via Solventum and the required dossier quality.
Hilde Malcorps worked for decades as a staff member in Patient Care and VG-MZG coordinator at UZA.
VG-MZG
NRG model
The NRG or Nursing Related Groups model is a grouping model that classifies nursing care into groups based on national VG-MZG data.
Each group or NRG represents a collection of care periods in which similar care is administered to the patient.
Philip Vervliet, Healthcare Analytics Expert at Solventum, explains the model in detail.
Hilde Malcorps clarifies the theory with a real-life case study.
