Let's talk about ICD-11
Study day
Context
On January 1, 2022, the World Health Organization officially launched the global transition from ICD-10 to ICD-11. This shift aims to modernize the classification system by incorporating the latest medical and scientific developments and improving the international comparability of health data.
In Belgium, the Federal Public Service of Health announced in 2021 that the transition from ICD-10 to ICD-11, through SNOMED CT, will be implemented nationally by 2027.
This upcoming change raises an urgent question within the healthcare sector: How can all stakeholders adequately prepare to ensure a smooth and effective implementation? This concern is widely shared among healthcare professionals.
In response, THE Institute has taken the initiative to organize a thematic study day to address this challenge. The event will bring together both national and international experts to share valuable insights and practical strategies.
Objective of the Study Day
The aim of this study day is to explore the many pressing questions currently circulating within the healthcare field. While we acknowledge there are no one-size-fits-all answers, our goal is to gather a panel of experts to share their perspectives and collectively explore possible solutions.
This event offers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, stay informed about developments both in Belgium and internationally, and foster a shared understanding of the challenges and opportunities that this transition entails.
