After more than 20 years of experience as a doctor and member of the board of directors in hospitals, most recently as chief physician at Jan Yperman, Ilke has been a medical policy adviser at the national study service of the Socialistische Mutualiteiten since this year. Ilke is also a former member of the board of directors at Patient Empowerment vzw.

Cindy is a clinical psychologist by training and specializes in Client-Centered-Experiential Psychotherapy. She currently holds the position of General Director at the Medical Center St.-Jozef in Bilzen.

Knack / Knowledge Center for Breast Cancer
Marleen is a former general practitioner and made a career switch to the media in the 1990s. As a doctor-journalist and author of a dozen books about health, she was one of the founders of the website Health and Science in 2013, of which she is also a former editor-in-chief. She currently works for Knack and is editor-in-chief at Knowledge Center Breast Cancer.

Rudy was a general practitioner throughout his career. Only recently retired he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, which suddenly made him a patient himself. That opened his eyes and he wrote the book 'Kankeren' about it.

Marc is a member of the board of directors of the non-profit organization Patient Empowerment. He obtained a bachelor's degree in nursing, a pedagogical diploma and a management education. Over the years he was a registered nurse, head nurse, care manager and nursing director. He also taught at the Erasmus University. He has been an independent consultant since 2009.

Lynn has 20 years of patient experience and is active as a patient representative at the local and Flemish level. As a volunteer, she helps to develop the Patient Empowerment story and is co-author of the Praktijkboek patient empowerment for health care providers that will be published on 25 October.

Ester trained as a nurse and subsequently obtained a doctorate in Biomedical Sciences. After a career at UZ Leuven, RIZIV-INAMI and the Sint-Franciscus hospital, she decided to become a senior consultant become at Hict. There she is closely involved in the development of value-based healthcare (Value-Based Healthcare).
